Project Summary
Madison County YMCA Storytelling Initiative
The Madison County YMCA stands at a defining moment in its history — marked by clarity around where the greatest needs exist in the community and where the YMCA can make its deepest, most lasting impact.
This project is designed to help the YMCA tell that story in a way that is both emotionally compelling and strategically effective — revealing not only what the YMCA does, but why it matters and who it impacts.
Through a blend of documentary-style storytelling and energetic, action-driven content, this initiative will highlight the YMCA’s work in addressing food insecurity, providing access to quality childcare, restoring trust within the community and living out its Christ-centered mission through tangible service.
The result will be a system (or series) of visual stories that serves donors, partners, members and the broader community — equipping the YMCA with high-quality, versatile content that supports fundraising, enrollment, partnership development and long-term brand trust in Madison County and beyond.
This is not simply about creating videos — it is about building a storytelling foundation that reflects the heart of the Madison County YMCA and invites others to be part of what God is doing through it.
I don’t just make videos—I help people tell stories that matter.
My work is rooted in listening well, asking meaningful questions, and crafting visuals that feel honest and human. What sets me apart is my ability to uncover the deeper “why” behind a story and bring it to life with clarity, intention and heart.
I believe great storytelling builds trust. And I’m here to help you do just that—with creativity, strategy and a process that feels collaborative from start to finish.

We’ll identify key moments, events and individuals that we want to capture
Prepare questions for interviews (as needed)
Create a tentative schedule for outlining key events, days, times, location(s), etc.

For interviews, we will arrive roughly 1.5-2 hours prior to the shoot to set up and prep gear so we’re ready to begin filming on time
For b-roll, we will shoot after we wrap with interviews or at intentionally scheduled times
For full days or shoots that occur over a meal time, there will be a 1 hour break for the crew

Story Example #1
This is a part of a Legacy story where we combined interview and narrative components with b-roll video to share just part of Ken’s story of life change.
Story Example #2
In August of 2025, Cedar Valley Christian School celebrated its 50th anniversary. The goal of this project wasn’t just to celebrate the rich legacy and foundation of the school, but to also showcase what sets the faculty and school apart as a top choice for Christian education in the community.
We combined b-roll of the school and snapshots of its history with interviews with former and current staff, as well as alumni and parents of current students. The final touch was adding the voice-over script that was read by one of the original founding members.
Story Example #3
This was one of the first stories we had the privilege to capture and share. When we first heard of Alan’s story we knew it needed to be shared. It was such a joy to interview Alan, and by weaving his narrative and b-roll we were able to capture the true heart of this story. This is a beautiful reminder to “Be still and know”.
